George M. Csanyi is the Director for the State Support Team Region 7 who works primarily with SST personnel, Ohio Department of Education and Workforce leadership and staff, Educational Services Center staff, and other partners in supporting the work of public-school districts and buildings (including traditional public and community schools) identified through the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s differentiated accountability system who need targeted or intensive supports. Dr. Csanyi is responsible for the supervision of all aspects of the SST work, while ensuring adherence and fidelity to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s required processes, tools, and assigned activities. These responsibilities include oversight of all SST expenditures regardless of funding sources.
Dr. Csanyi believes that organizations do not rise to the level of their goals, but fall to the level of their systems (Clear, 2018). By building trust and relationships through the use effective communication skills (i.e., questioning and active listening), Dr. Csanyi and his team help support the right work of their clients by encouraging focused goal setting and enacting follow-through (Marzano Research, 2024). Education leadership is essential for creating and sustaining systems that include policies and practices that result in successful educational outcomes for all students. This involves supporting education leaders in developing, improving, and sustaining their continuous improvement practices through inclusive instructional and organizational leadership, building capacity through human resource management, and inclusive instructional leadership, particularly in the use of high-quality instructional materials.
Dr. Csanyi holds an Ohio Superintendent’s License and an Ohio School Psychologist Permanent Certificate.
Dr. Csanyi holds a Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Administration from The University of Akron and a Master’s of Science in Education Degree in School Psychology from The University of Akron.
